2008 advanced firewall settings
Hello,
I prepared 2 servers that running identical application.
The software integrator asking to open port 20006 on one of the servers and sent a screen shot showing 20006 is opened on the other.
Windows Firewall is disabled on both servers. I didn't open port on shown in screenshot server. When do netstat on both servers one shows 20006 (the ports related to the app). The other doesn't show it.
Since I didn't open the ports, I guess that during installation the program asked for port opening and guys just didn't check the box for port 20006 on the other server.
I added the port 20006 in Windows Firewall Advanced Settings incoming and outbound rules. Netstat still not shows 20006.
What I have to check?

Hi,
Guys correct me if i'm wrong but
"Windows Firewall is disabled on both servers"
if the firewall is disabled you don't need to open the ports.
If that was a typo :
Netstat only show active connections (so if there is no connection to it there won't be a netstat entry)

1. Enable firewall logging and see the logs.
2. Bind the desired port to application program if is possible.
3. Use network monitor to catch the traffic
4. There may be difference for public and domain securities.
5. Disable firewall in the case of testing and in secure environment.
