Backup BizTalk Server Agent job

So I'm battling our SQL group on another issue. I have always used the job that BizTalk creates "Backup BizTalk Server (BizTalkMgmtDb)"  to do the proper backing up of the BizTalk databases. The SQL group does not want to allow the Job created by BizTalk to do this job. They want to manage all database backups via whatever process they use for all other databases. Have any of you ever had to turn this over to the SQL group like this? If so, what are the considerations?

Thanks.

I have always used the job that BizTalk creates "Backup BizTalk Server (BizTalkMgmtDb)"  to do the proper backing up of the BizTalk databases--> that is what the only supported way of taking backup of BizTalk databases.

They want to manage all database backups via whatever process they use for all other databases--> this is not recommended at all. I would not never go for this option.

If so, what are the considerations? -->Always go with the supplied BizTalk SQL server jobs to take backup.

If you are planning for a DR site then that is the only option.

to support more, have a view of Backup BizTalk: Don't make ordinary Full backups blog post , everything is clearly explained.

Hope this helps
