With regard to hardware, you should always focus on the components that are slowest. Rather than spending alot of extra money on the latest CPU, you can redirect that cost and include a faster disk subsystem (better disks, striped array, etc..). Of course, go with a 64bit system, 64bit OS, and get some good RAM. Guides and tutorials, visit ITGeared.com.

Hello, This is going to sound like a really general question, but I am looking for any advice/suggestions. This is regarding hardware...what should I get if I want to build a server for my house? I'm looking to host/stream all of my DVDs (just within the house) and possibly host a couple websites. Any suggestions? Thanks!
