Change netadapter name based on IP address
I'm an IT trainer, and i teach Routing and NAT on Windows Server 2008R2.
My machine has 2 NIC, both set to DHCP. On of my NICs is connected to my ISP net and the NIC is connected to my private net.
The NIC connected to my ISP will receive an IPv4 address, the NIC connected to my private net will receive an 192.168.0.0/16 address.
I need to rename the 2 NICs based on which Network it is connected to.
Can anybody help me?

My private NIC will receive an 169.254.0.0/16 IP address, of course.

Go in your control panel, check network adaptor, click each network adaptor, and depending of the status it give rename it.

There is nothing to do that automatically but it is not hard to do it manually. I usually rename the adapters on NAT routers to Internal and External or Public and Private.
