China Azure account (https://manage.windowsazure.cn) monitoring using SCOM 2012

Hi Experts,

I have an Azure china (https://manage.windowsazure.cn) account and i wanted to monitor Azure VMs in this account using SCOM 2012 R2.

I created certificate and uploaded into Azure management portal.

Imported management pack in SCOM 2012 R2 console.

Now when I try to add subscription details from SCOM Administration tab after selected certificate and password when i select add subscription i am getting below error:

Note:  The following information was gathered when the operation was attempted.  The information may appear cryptic but provides context for the error.  The application will continue to run.

System.Exception: Azure Management REST request is failed. Method:GET URI:https://management.core.windows.net/740f755a-b5f8-4b88-a541-f6a67dc0d17b StatusCode:Forbidden, ErrorCode:ForbiddenError ErrorMessage:The server failed to authenticate the request. Verify that the certificate is valid and is associated with this subscription. Exception:The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.

Hello Sarika,

I worked on the same issue today. the idea here is that the China Azure uses different endpoint mappings those already defined in SCOM while adding a Azure subscription, so you need to click the advanced button in the subscription add wizard from SCOM and replace the URL described in the below article under the Endpoint Mappings Section. this will definitely work for china azure subscriptions.

msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn578439.aspx#features

hope that helps,

Best Regards,

Niranjan

I am able to follow what was suggested in this answer and was able to add the a Azure China subscription in SCOM 2012 R2, however I am unable to monitor any resources under that subscription.  I am able to monitor resources in other non-China subscriptions without any issue, so is there anything special in addition to using China endpoints?
