Configuring logon server
Forgive me if my terminology is not correct. I'm coming from a UNIX background. I have a Windows 2003 server that authenticates against a Linux machine running Samba as a domain controller and I guess authentication server. The Windows 2003 machine is wanting to talk to the Linux box via IP address 192.168.1.19 which is a secondary IP address. If I remove this address from the Linux machine, authentication on the 2003 server fails. Is there anywhere to configure the 2003 server to talk to the the domain controller using its primary address? Thanks.

hi there, AFAIK the configuraiton is specific to Linux server , can you please describe in detail as to whether windows clients are getting authenticated to linux ? ( which is what i understood) , if so,i would like you to check what is the difference between primary and secondary ip ,as per my knowledge authentication in windows goes through either kerberos / NTLM and in windows we use DNS for name resolution and domain authentication. I would also suggest you to post your query under linux forums.sainath
