DC Authentication
Hi,
By default, users logon to the domain, he will query DNS for record about the DC in the local site. I would like to know that whether the two DCs are all DNS server, which DNS server the client computer point to.
Please recheck the IP configuration for the local DC and the client to make sure that they are in the same site. We could open Active Directory Sites and Services and check out whether the sites are configured right.
I would like suggest you check out whether the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is set to manual or automatic on the Local site DC. If it is set to manual, please set it to automatic and reboot the DC

Hi
We have the parent DC's installed off site and aditional DC's at different sites. All of the FSMO roles are assigned to the parent DC's. When i do "set l" from the command prompt it displays the off site DC and not my local DC. Is this normal ? as my off
sites DC's are root DC's and PDC roles owners.
Any ideas?

Set L command results in which system it logged on to.
Check these articles how to locate the DC.
