DNS Question
Hello,Currently I only have one server with DNS setup. Yes I know I am really putting myself in a BAD situation. I want to fix it this weekend so that if the server goes down my domain doesn't. I can't find a Windows 2003 forum so I hope you don't mind that I post here. This is the technet article I found on DNS and I am wondering if I am headed in the right direction?http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc779571.aspxCould someone please let me know if this is the way to go? I would really appreciate it!Thanks in advance!JaminJen

That depends on whether you are using AD integrated zones. If you are using AD integrated zones then you just need to install DNS on a domain member server and create the identical forward lookup zone and for AD replication. If you are using a standard primary zone then install DNS on a server and create a secondary zone as described in the article. Then be sure to secure zone transfers according to this articlehttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc739056.aspx.James Goodwin - Senior Technical Instructor & Network Infrastructure Expert MCT, MCP+ I, MCTS:Server 2008, MCTS: SCCM, MCTS:Vista MCSA:S, MCSE:S, MCITP:SA, MCITP:EA , MCITP:ES, CCNA, CCSI(# 32018), C|EH, C|HFI, C|EI, HDSA, A+, Network+, i-Net+, Server+, Security+ My Blog:http://thattrainerguy.blogspot.com/
