Delete
Does anyone know how to and if it is possible to create a password so that my teenagers can not delete the temp files, cookies and history as well as images. This is for Windows XP. They have discovered how to delete the temp cookies here and I want to stop it:

Hi,
I am afraid there is no way to prevent them deleting the temp files, cookies and history if they have already known the path of them.
If they don't know the target of these temp files, cookies and history, there is one solution for your reference.
Scenario 1. Windows XP Professional in Domain mode.
You may create a GPO to configure settings of "Removes the General tab from the interface in the Internet Options dialog box". If you enable this policy, users are unable to see and change settings for the home page, the cache, history, Web page appearance, and accessibility. You also need to link to the GPO to the container that holds all the teenagers logon accounts.
Please enable the specific setting which is located at:User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Disable the General page
Please note: its better to let all the domain users to re-logon the domain afterwards.
Scenario 2. Windows XP Professional in Workgroup mode.
If all the Windows XP clients belongs to workgroup and you don't want to add them to a domain. You may launch the local group policy console with gpedit.msc to enable the same group policy settings on every client.
Scenario 3. Windows XP Home in Workgroup mode.
You may launch Registry Editor with Regedit on every client, and then locate and then manually create the following sub key.
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel\
Then add a new DWORD value of "GeneralTab", set it to 1.
Hope it helps.
