Hi I have folder in network drive which is shared by one department called estimation. The below permission has been given to that folder. Folder name: project Share permission: Everyone has full control Security permission: Estimation department has Full access permission. I would like to take out delete permission from Estimation department. When I have given deny permission in Advance security settings, its not allowing deleting the files or folder to user. so Its worked out. But I wanted user to create new folder in project folder & they can rename of that folder which is not allowing after removing the delete option. Kindly advise.

Have you checked the option to aplly the settings to the folder only under advanced ? By default -I presume- the permissions inherently propagate. ShemsInformation is the most valuable commodity I know off.

Hi Shems,The delete deny permission has already applied on project folder.but its not allowing users to rename the foder when they create new folder.I would like to allow them to create new folder in project folder & they can rename that folder but they cannot delete that Folder.Chetan

Hi Chetan, The only possibility I see here is to give the creator of the folder auditing permissions (manually) after the folder is created. Shems <bump> Information is the most valuable commodity I know off.
