Having problems with DNS Replication in an RODC in test want to start over. Plan is to:
1. Demote DC thru dcpromo
2. Remove DNS on RODC
3. Reboot and wait about an hour for things to clear
4. Promote server back as a RODC
5. Install DNS - poinint to RWDC server
6. Wait for DNS replication
7. Continue as normal
Does this plan look correct and am I missing anything
Thanks
Dave

Hello,
Before demotion, proceed like that:
Make the RODC points to an RWDC / DNS server as primary DNS server Make sure that needed ports for AD replication are not blocked: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727063.aspx (Use PortQry v2 for checking)
If this does not help, you can demote the RODC and promote it again and then install DNS one it. Don't forget to let it points to an RWDC / DNS server as primary DNS server.
If you find problems when demoting the RODC then you run dcpromo /forceremoval
on it and perform a metadata cleanup.
