Domain controller not answering after switch crasch
I have a domain with 2 domain controllers. Same servers are dns-servers. Both servers windows 2003. The clients on the network are connected through 3 3com switches (Baseline switch 2226). Today one of the switches suddenly stopped working. All the
clients that were connected to that switched had no network connection. I moved all of them to one of the switches that were up and running. Although I have restarted both switches and servers, the clients still have no network connection. The domain controller
cannot be found. What to do? Anybody have a solution?

Are you sure server and client is in the same vlan?
Do you have any restrictions placed on the switch?
Can you post DC and clinet netowkr configuration? With kind regards

Hi,
Make sure if you do not have VLANs, DHCP server is running or client ip addresses fall in the same subnet of servers.
Thanks.

Hello,
have you checked if the switches are configured to use VLANs?
Please post an unedited ipconfig /all form the DCs and a problem client whcih can't connect.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
