Dynamic Cache Service and windows 2008 R2
Hi,
The memory management algorithms were updated to address this problem in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems. Therefore,
we do not recommend that you use the provided functions or the Microsoft Windows Dynamic Cache Service in computers that are running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
For more information, please refer to the following Microsoft KB article:
You experience performance issues in applications and services when the system file cache consumes most of the physical RAM

But another TechNet blog updates the following information:
As of August, 2011, we have found that there are certain conditions on Windows Server 2008 R2 RTM/SP1 where this service is required.
Please contact Microsoft Support to get a version of the “Microsoft Windows Dynamic Cache Service” for a version that works
with W2K8 R2.
You may refer to the following Microsoft TechNet blog for the detailed information:

I would like to suggest you contact your local Microsoft Service Center to confirm if such a Microsoft Windows Dynamic Cache Service is available for
Windows Server 2008 R2.

I have read several sites and many users are having the same issue we have - the cache on Windows 2008 R2 creeps up and must be reset using Cacheset or by rebooting. I was wondering is anyone has tried
Dynamic Cache Service on 2008 r2? Or has anyone modified it to work with R2?
The docx file states that it is for 2008 and before only.
Any help would be great!
