Event 1030 & 1058
I am getting these errors every 5 minutes. I have checked DNS & replication and they both work. I am pretty sure the issue is because we are missing the policies & scripts folder under sysvol. I have no idea how or why they dissapeared. Here are the folders that we have. \domain \domain\DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory \staging \staging\domain \staging areas \staging areas\<domain name> \sysvol \sysvol\<domain name> \sysvol\<domain name>\DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory We have 2 DC's running 2003 and 3 DC's running 2003 R2. I realize I will most likely need to restore the scripts / policy folders from backup, I would like to get the folder structure back the right way before I do that though. Thanks

Hi Johnson, According to Event ID 1030 and 1058, this issues occur if the computers that are on your network cannot connect to certain Group Policy objects. Specifically, these objects are in the Sysvol folders on your network's domain controllers. To resolve this issue, you may follow the KB 887303's steps to troubleshoot this issue. Userenv errors occur and events are logged after you apply Group Policy to computers that are running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;887303 Sincerely, Wilson JiaThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

I went through this and many KB articles. What ended up fixing it is creating the policies & scripts folder and restoring the contents from backup. The servers running 2003 recreated the netlogon share without rebooting. The servers running 2003 R2 needed a reboot to recreate the share. There are still random errors that I have to work on, but the policies are back and that is what I needed most.
