Event ID 1054 - Userenv Windows cannot determine the user or computer name
Running Server 2008R2 64, a client computer WinXP 32.
When I check in AD I see the computer (winxp2), but it does not appear in DNS...
I can log in, but cannot install any printer.

Screen shot shows DNS host record for WinXP-PC1 against IP 192.168.1.70 !
I can log in, but cannot install any printer.
You need to log on administrator to install printer on machine ! If you have setup Group Policy to install printer then, it looks like group policy not
applied on XP machine.
To fix the error shown in screen shot with event ID 1054, please refer following discussion

Windows XP clients support Fast Logon Optimization in any domain environment. Turn off Fast Logon Optimization, you can use the following policy setting:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\ Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon
Try dis-joining and rejoining machine to the domain and see if that makes difference.
