Event ID 1903 HHCTRL flooding event log Win 2003 server
Our CRM server is now being flooded with these information logs thousands per day, so much that our log is getting reset twice a day. THis makes for troubleshooting other application issues like CRM impossible because the issues that would have
been logged are gone.
We do not use Tight VNC. The events are trigggered after running a scheduled task, which runs Microsoft Dynamics GP and an integration. Never had this issue until a week or so ago. I checked the registry and there is no Help folder under
Microsoft software (from another KB). I also did the permissions to everyone on the registration folder (another KB).
1. Can I remove whatever update that cauased this or
2. Can I stop these events from happening?

Hi,
This information log usually comes up when an application calls HHCTRL. Please first temporarily turn off the scheduled task for a test.
If the problem continues, I suggest you use
process monitor to determine which application calls HHCTRL on the problem server.
Meanwhile, please also let us know the following information:
1.
The completed information about this event.
2.
You mentioned you have tried suggestions from two KB articles. Could you please let us know the KB number?
Regards,
Bruce

I have multiple tasks that run each morning and the last one ran at 6:30AM and that is the last time stamp of HHCTRL (hundreds at that time). I cleared the log and there are no more. They do not return until the tasks run again. I know the application
that runs the task so that has to be the application that calls HHCTRL, but since it's a Microsoft product (Dynamics GP 10), I can't fix it.
It mentions that it can't display messages from a remote computer, but there's nothing running on a remote server but our integrations are accessing an access database on another server and our sql server is on a different server.
This is the entire log:
The description for Event ID ( 1903 ) in Source ( HHCTRL ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to
retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkID=45839.
