Event ID 4010 on DNS service restart
Having this issue on all 8 Domain Controllers / DNS Servers. "The DNS server was unable to create a resource record for REDACTED._msdcs.atl.REDACTED.com. in zone REDACTED.com. The Active Directory definition of this resource record is corrupt or contains an invalid DNS name. The event data contains the error." The long hex string I have removed does not correspond to the name of any existing DCs in DNS _msdcs folder.

You could try using adsiedit to find and remove the offending string. In Server 2008 & R2, you don't need adsiedit if you enable view\advanced features. Then, when you open properties on any object, there is an attribute editor tab available that gives you the same capabilities.

Thanks, is there a way to search through all attributes without going into each entry to find the string?

You can use Dsqueryon Server2008. There is probably something similar for Server 2003.
