File Compression
Hi,
I have a .csv file of more than 4GB size when I try to compress/zip the fileusing windows compression it gives me an error the file cannot be compressed as it is too larg.
Is this a limitation or is there some other workaround to compress files of size bigger than 4 GB size ?
Cheers!

You could try if other programs (e.g. 7zip or filzip) can do the task. Or you split the large file into smaller files (with e.g. File Splitter) and then try the operation.[just some additional info:don't have such a large csv file (and could not find one with ftp search sites until now)so since this was no real csv file, the result may be differentarchived 4 files into a zip (4,15 GB (4.462.068.234 bytes)) and renamed the extension then to csvright click > select "Send to" > select "Compressed (zipped) Folder"and it workedsystem info:Microsoft Windows Server Release Candidate 1 - 2008 Datacenter, 64 bit6001.17119.amd64fre.longhorn.071210-1916 Service Pack 1, v.735On request, more info can be provided]btw: who says that the given error msg references the correct error ? :-)if you have some free time - might be helpful to- try the zipping in a different folder location- find the exact size when this error happens- ...Bye,Erkan YILMAZ
