Hi,

This one is OKay: http://sqldbdoc.codeplex.com/ command line utility, produces a single html file.

Or you can try my new tool LiveDoco web app (IIS, ASP.NET MVC3+JQuery): http://www.livedoco.com/

It's not free though :)

I know this is an old thread but the free (workgroup edition) of our product XIA Configuration allows you to document all the databases and tables on a single SQL server instance including stored procedures, tables, functions and extended properties.

http://www.centrel-solutions.com/XIAConfiguration/capabilities.aspx?capability=SQLInstance

Follow this link to get the free license.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Hi IndikaD,

Recently we released powerful free tool that does that - Dataedo.

It supports SQL Server 2005+, Oracle 9i+ and other databases in near future. You can export to PDF and soon to Doc, HTML and Excel too.

Have a look at:
www.dataedo.com

Greetings,

Piotr Kononow
Dataedo product manager

You can to id with Dataedo. It has free edition (it's not open source). It reads schema (tables and views with columns, procedures and functions with parameters). It reads MS_Description and you can document directly in it's repository. It exports to PDF, HTML and Excel (the last two in Pro only).
