How to disable protected mode in IE8? This is what I tried as suggested by my colleague To disable protected mode please click on Start button, click on Run (otherwise simply press R key and the key which has Microsofts Logo on it simultaneously), type inetcpl.cpl, press enter on your keyboard or click on OK, under Security tab, uptick the box that reads Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer), restart internet explorer. I did not have this tick box that reads Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer). What am I supposed to do? Please advice.

I did Ctrl & F and tried to search Protected mode but nothing came up, are you sure you have given me the right link?
