Huge size of temp folder
Hi.
Is it Ok that folder C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Temp\ size is about 17Gb? I'm using Server 2008R2 std VM on Hyper-V. Also size of this folder has been increased to 4Gb today just in 2 hours.
Is it safety to delete all folders inside and how to prevent it in future?
Thanks

Generally it is fine to clear the files in this folder. Some files may not able to deleted if related program is still running. If huge temp file is created, you may need to check the running programs and see if any of them created these files. Sometimes
it will be created by antivirus programs.
Meanwhile, temp files still be cleared by disk cleanup utility.

Hi,
What kind of files are they? Find out what app creates them. If they are non descriptive use sysinternals tools to find the open handles to the files, or monitor the folder with it.

There are many folders with 1 XML file in each. I've checked it, looks like our application creates and handles them, but wouldn't delete.
Thanks for reply, I will investigate it locally.
Cheers
