IE won't run directly on build 6001
Environment:
Running enterprise evaluation copy build 6001 via TS.
Behaviour:
Double click on IE in the Start menu does not cause it to run.
Select Windows update, then type in URL will cause a new instance of IE to open
IE was working OK right after I installed 2008, but after I installed Office, Visio, Project, VS8 and rebooted I now get this problem.
Is this a known issue? Any suggestions to fix this.

I do this all the time, so i know it does work...
First off if you are running ie, you need to turn off IE Enhanced Security Configuration - you do this from server manager.
Are there any eventlog entries when you try to run IE?

Use to work right after I first installed 2008.
ESC is turned off (did that right away since it blocked certain internal sites I access)
No event log entries
If I right-mouse C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and select run as administrator, then it works, otherwise it does nothing. I'm guessing one of the updates has brought this on.
