IPv6 and Windows Server 2003
To Whom It May Concern: What is the official stance for suport for IPv6 and Windows Server 2003? Although I have used it in the past successfully I see mixed messages. 0. IPv6 Support in Microsoft Services and Products, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/network/hh994905 does not list the product and is the latest of all references I could find. 1. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb629624(v=exchg.80).aspx lists it as being supported. 2. How to install and configure IP version 6 in Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Server, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325449 , details how to install and configure on WS2K3 EE. 3. Updates to Understanding IPv6, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12362 explains IPv6 within WS2K3.

Hi, Thanks for your post. IPv6 protocol is supported in Windows Server 2003. By default, IPv6 is not enabled on Windows Server 2003. You need to install the IPv6 stack first. And Windows Server 2003 did not support all IPv6 feature. For fully IPv6 compatibility, its recommended to upgrade to higher Windows Server edition.
