Linking a Branches with HQ
I am working in a company having several Branch Offices and an HQ. NO servers are available at the branches, We only have client PC (OS:Windows Windows XP Professional) ,while all servers are centralized on the Head Office (working on Windows Server 2003). The Branches are linked with the head office though Cisco Land-line Routers. In each Branch we use 2 different ISPs. 1 line is main which Active, while the other one is backup. As soon as the main line is down the backup line operates. I would like to ask you if it is possible using NIC Teaming in linking the Clients on Branches with the HQ. So that I am provided with double Bit-Rate, when using the 2 ISPs. Thanks and Best Regards, Chris

This is in the network rather than the clients. Unless you have tons of bandwidth (more than the maximum connection speed of the clients to the LAN), NIC teaming on the client side would not help. I am assuming that you have a branch router with two connections (one to each ISP), you would need to perform equal cost load balancing (assuming static routing, RIP, OSPF, etc) or unequal cost load balancing (EIGRP only) between the connections. -- Mike Burr Technology
