Manage NTFS Permissions
I have a folder inside the CIFS share on EMC storage. Both Domain admin and a normal domain user has go full control on the folder. That is their permissions on this folder are at the same level. The domain admin can manage permissions on this folder but the normal user can only access the folders. I would like the normal user to manage the permissions as well. It was working fine but suddenly the user is unable to manage permissions. What could be wrong?

The share should be set to "Authenticated Users" if everyone has access and set to Full Control or with the new sharing permissions, READ/WRITE. As you see necessary, NTFS permissions can and will be applied as the dominating permissions thereafter. In order to change permissions, a user must have full control or an explicit ACL for read/change permissions. The root folder has the share level permision, Domain Admin has Full Control, Everyone has Read/Change permissions. Inside the root folder, there is a folder (not shared) with NTFS permissions, Domain Admin = Full Control and one specific user also Full Control. Now this user is unable to manage the permissions of this folder. Is it a normal behaviour? In order to manage the NTFS permissions is it necessary for the user to have Full control at the Share Level as well?
