Network Access Local Only
Just got my Windows Server 2008 Standard 64-bit installed today and have run into an issue with networking. For some reason when I reboot the network comes up in Local Only mode. If I just let the server sit for a while (10+ minutes) eventually it becomes Local and Internet. This server has only one NIC and I set it up with static info and the gateway is set correctly. I have turned off the firewall but can't think of what else to try. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Marc

During the time that it shows Local Only, are you able to get out on the internet (i.e. the status is just wrong) ?I have seen this freqently with Vista and 2K8 machines.

If the computer is not joined to a domain, it may take add'l time to resolve the status to Local and Internet. Can you confirm if the server is a domain member?
