Problem connecting to Oracle in Reporting Services but not SSDT

Hi,

I have SQL 2012 Reporting Services installed on a standalone computer.

The Oracle 11g client is installed there with a tnsnames.ora file correctly configured.

In SQL Server Data Tools on this box I have 2 reports that successfully use MSDAORA.1 and OraOLEDB.Oracle.1 providers.

Once I deploy to the report manager (on the same box) I get

The 'MSDAORA.1' provider is not registered on the local machine.

The 'OraOLEDB.Oracle.1' provider is not registered on the local machine.

Clearly the providers are registered so I am missing something here - any ideas?

Hi Microsoft!

I have the same problem as above.  Wondering a few things:

1. Is it a requirement to use OraOLEDB.Oracle.1 when deploying reports in 2012 to a SharePoint mode server?

2. If it is required to use OraOLEDB.Oracle.1, then do you also need to configure TNSNAMES.ORA?

3. If OraOLEDB.Oracle.1 is not required in SSRS 2012 SharePoint Mode deployment, then how do we get  MSDAORA.1 working?

Thanks!

(Really would appreciate an answer for my very large client!)

Hi ,

Which version of oracle client you are using (I think it is 64 bit).Install 32 bit also.

It will solve your problem.
