Problem with Windows Server 2008 RC1
Hi, Im having a problem with Windows server 2008 standard RC1. After I install the OS, I get to the mandatory password part. I have tried put a easy to use password but to no avil. I have even put random letters and number in it up to 10 to 12 spaces long and still won't accect it. Is it somthing I am doing wrong or is it a bug?

Hi, Please try to use a passwordwhich willthe password complexity requirement: 1.Password must be at least six characters long 2.Password must contain characters from at least three of the following four classes: a.English upper case letters b.English lower case letters c.Westernized Arabic numerals d.Non-alphanumeric ("special characters") I have tried before, and found the Windows Server 2008 RC1 require a complex password by default. Hi, Thanks for posting here. The Windows 2008 requests a complex password as Scorpio replied. However, it allow us to modify this default behavior through Group Policy. In a domain environment, navigate to "Computer configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Account policies -> Password policy" in "default domain policy" on the Domain Controller and modify these entries according to the our requests. If in case of workgroup environment, we can simply modify it by running "gpedit.msc" in the Run dialogue, then navigate "Computer configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Account policies -> Password policy" to perform the corresponding modification. For your information, the new feathure about password policy introduced by Windows 2008 is Fine-Grained Password Policies.
