Problems setting permissions on a folder
We have a Windows Server 2008 member server that is part of an SBS 2008 domain. I need to set some permissions to a folder on the member server. Basically to allow only certain users access to the folder and sub folders. Rather than set permissions to 9 users individually (which of course generates the performance error) I firstly created a new security group on the SBS server, then added the specific users, and then added the new security group to the permissions list and giving full control to the folder and sub folders. However when I test this by trying to access the folder from my workstation (I am a member of the new security group) I am denied access. I double checked the permissions on the folder and it all looks fine - the administrator has full access and the new security group has full access. How come I can't access the folder?

Hi, Check the permissions on the share and also make sure you are member of the new group (logoff/logon or drop your TGT with kerbtray / klist).Csaba

Doh! Logging off/logging back on sorted it. Cheers
