Hi Guys I am trying to register a file cdo.dll, i am logged in as adminsitrator and when i run the command prompt regsvr32 cdo.dll i get the error Dllregisterserver in cdo.dll failed error code: 0x80040202. i look in the registery and the entry is not there Please help

Are you using Windows 2008 R2? Then run the script with elevated rights (Run as Administrator). Rgds Milos

you can take a look with process monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645) if there exist permission issues with your registry keys while you try to register the dll. thats one possible cause of the error

capture the events while you run regsvr32 path\cdo.dll, after you received the error, stop the capturing and apply a filter with Result Contains "ACCESS DENIED". that way you see possible security problems
