Restoring Locally Cached User Accounts
A little background: I help manage an SBS network for a client. There are only a few workstations running XP and 7 and are authenticated against Active Directory on an SBS server in a domain. A few months ago, this server was stolen and the perpetrators
have yet to be found. The client has a new SBS server, but we need to be able to reestablish trust between the locally cached user accounts on the workstations and the server. Before rejoining the workstations to the domain, the users are still
able to login due to the cached login credentials. When I rejoin the computers to the domain, I understand that the users will lose their desktop and preferences (though they will still be on the hard drive) due to the conflicting SIDs, resulting in
a clean-and-fresh desktop. I would just edit the SIDs of the recreated users in Active Directory on the server, but I understand that is near impossible. These users have a lot of documents and saved preferences that would take a while to re-tweak.
Is there any possible way of keeping the users' current desktop when I rejoin the workstations to the domain?

you may join new domain and use the USMT tool which will copy all the profile and settings which includes the settings included in the internet explorer.
