Restrict Terminal User login as per session
Hi, I have Windows 2008 standard R2 Terminal Server, there are 20 Terminal User. I want to restrict all terminal user to one session, except for one user, this one user should not be able to take more than 3 session simultaneously. How to do that? If i go via Administrator tool > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration and there i can set Restrict Each User to single session. but here it applies to all user, how should i apply to all User except one user and that too only 3 session limit for that particular user. Is it Possible? Thanks & Regards, Param Thanks & Regards, Param www.paramgupta.blogspot.com

Hi, By default, there is no better way to achieve this requirement. Reconnecting to a disconnected session by using a different protocol is not supported. To access the disconnected session, the user must reconnect by using the same protocol (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754762.aspx). Means that you can use third-party remote tools to log the RDS Server, allow certain users to have multiple sessions at one time while forcing other to 1 session at all time. More information: If a user specifies a different program to start when the user connects to the RD Session Host server, a new session will be created on the RD Session Host server for the user, even if the RD Session Host server is configured to restrict users to a single session. A user can specify a program to start on connection on the Programs tab under Options in Remote Desktop Connection. Best Regards, AidenAiden Cao TechNet Community Support
