SSRS 2012 SP1 on SharePoint 2013 (Network Steve Forum)

SSRS 2012 SP1 on SharePoint 2013

I've tried to install SSRS 2013 on my SP2013 tenant.

First I've applied SP1 for SQL Server 2012 then I was able to create a SSRS Service application.

Good. But now I haven't any RS content types !

I've searched all day on iternet for solutions, tried everything nothing happened.

Then I've uninstalled RS and RS Add-in from SQL and tried to install again from a SQL Server SP1 slipstream.

At RS Add-in for SharePoint it gives an error with code 1603.

Can anyone help me install RS 2012 SP1 with SP 2013 ???

Hi Sorin,

Based on my research, the issue might occur if the SharePoint was not installed or configured correctly. Please first check whether the other SharePoint sites work well before installing the "Reporting Services SharePoint" shared features of SQL Server 2012.

Then, please install the SQL Server 2012 SP1 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint which supports SharePoint Server 2013.

Besides, please also make sure the current user has sufficient permission on the SharePoint farm.

Additionally, the issue might also occur due to the bad web.config of the SharePoint. You can compare the web.config (<Drive>:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\wpresources) on this computer with that on the other computer.

I don't know what's happening here but RS Add-in it's not installing.

And I can't connect to Reporting Services using Configuration manager

Hi Sorin,

check your web configs. If your web configs contains comments (), It is potencoinal problem.
After delete comments (in my case) from web configs, the Configuration wizard was successfully completed.

In my case it was the web.config file under the mysites web application. It had the following line commented out:

<modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true">
      <remove name="AnonymousIdentification" />     
      <remove name="FileAuthorization" />      
      <remove name="Profile" />      
      <remove name="WebDAVModule" />      
      <!--<remove name="Session" />-->

Thanks for the tip regarding the comments. After searching through all of my web configs I finally found a comment that was causing mine to fail.

Lukas - you are the man!!!!! Wasted two days so far installing, re-installing and going through logs. I'm glad to see it's going through the below steps now- it was also comments for my case too. I wonder how Config Wizard succeeded (with comments in the web.config files) in all other cases except this Reporting services add-in.
