Server 2003 Issue
I am running server 2003 and every once in awhile when i go to access the server drives, it says it cannot connect. Then i go to the server to log in and it wont let me and says contact the system administrator which i am the administrator. If i shut the server down and then restart it, it then lets me in with no problem so i'm not sure what the problem is or where to begin to fix it. does anyone have any suggestions on what would cause this and how i can prevent it from doing this? I would greatly appreciate your help and havea great 4th of July.Best regards,Rich

Hello,a good starting point will be the correct error message you get when using RDC or logging on direct to the server. Logon problems and network access can belong to DNS problems, so an unedited ipconfig /all can hepl to excluse this.Best regards

Hmmm. Could be the RPC listening service or something. Check the event logs for errors. Make sure, in the RPC services advanced tab, that it will restart upon crash. Happens at work sometimes.
