We have Server 2008 installed, with about 50 users connecting to the server.We had a power failure over the weekend and the UPS died. Since restarting the server, the Domain Controller is missing. When trying to add the domain controller again, it can't findthe server as a domain controller????What doI need to do to restore my server 2008 server asthe domain controller?.....................Is it possible to run a repairwith windows 2008?

The server doesn't even want to go onto the network, so the users can't log on, because they can't see the server

A simple power failure isn't going to remove the domain controller features from the server. Is DNS running correctly? Are all networking components working correctly? Can you see other resources on the network from the server? Can you browse to the server? Is the Sysvol/Netlogon folder still there? What errors do you get when you try to run ADUC (Active Directory Users and Computers)? Any major events in event viewer?

Can you check if the service AD Domain Services is started on the DC? If not, start the service.
