Server 2008 R2 Blue Screen Error "0x0000007B" after plugging in External USB drive
Server has been working fine for months. I connected a USB external 1 TB drive. After rebooting the server it bluescreened with "Stop: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A9928, 0xFFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). I removed the USB external and tried rebooting multiple times with same result. I also searched the forum and tried "startrep.exe", "SFC /SCANNOW" without success. I can browse the C: drive after booting with System recovery options. All directories and files are on the server, it just won't boot without bluescreening.

I'd look around for changes in system cmos setup. 0x7b = inaccessible boot device. Regards, Dave Patrick .... Microsoft Certified Professional Microsoft MVP [Windows]

I did that with Dell first. I called them to see if inserting an external drive would have changed the boot sequence in any way. They walked me through the BIOS settings and confirmed it was correct. I am using UEFI boot manager and have checked the options many times already. Thanks

If the system repeat the BSOD, then use Last Known Good Configuration when the system starts. The use Safe Boot and look into event logs. Regards Milos

If that isn't it then you'll probably need to start a CSS support case with Microsoft as trouble shooting blue screen stop is out of scope of these forums. Regards, Dave Patrick .... Microsoft Certified Professional Microsoft MVP [Windows]

That's exactly what I did. Thanks anyway.
