Server 2008 R2 Enterprise (Activated) turned into Win Server Enterprise (Not activated) ?!!!!
Hi, According to the error message, it seems that the network connectivity is incorrect between the KMS and your Hyper-V virtual machine. Based on the current situation, please change the Hyper-V network settings and make sure that the KMS and the virtual machine can community normally. If it does not work, please also refer to the following Microsoft KB article for further troubleshooting suggestions: Error message when you try to activate Windows Vista Enterprise, Windows Vista Business, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008: "Code 0x8007232b" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929826 Regards,Arthur Li TechNet Community Support

A few weeks ago I've installed a fresh copy of Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise on a hyper-v virtulal machine, I've activated it and installed the Active Directory Domain Services role (so I could use the server as a secondary domain controller). However, when I logged on this week to check the server, I had the yellow popup box reminding me to activate the Windows. Now when I try to activate again, I get an error: "Key management services (KMS) host could not be located in domain name system(DNS), please have your system administrator verify... ". And I've also noticed that the Windows edition in Computer Properties is now: Windows Server Enterprise Copyright 2007 Service Pack 2. Any ideas on why is this happening and how do I reactivate my Windows? Thanks

1. What is the output from command slmgr -dli ? 2. I would recommend to use MS Activation Center http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950929 3. I would read very carefully on the DC in Hyper-V environment http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/virtual_active_directory_domain_controller_virtualization_hyperv(WS.10).aspx Regards Milos
