ServicesPipeTimeout in Windows 2008 R2
Hello, I need to verify two things for a collegue. We have used the registrysettings [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control] "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"="12000" "ServicesPipeTimeout"=dword:0000ea60 It is described in this article how you can use them: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824344 It has worked in Windows 7, but I need to have verified that it also works in Windows 2008 R2. Can anyone verify that the two settings works in Windows 2008 R2? Best regards, Thorsten

Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 have same code base. Hence, I presume if any registry settings works on Windows 7, that would most likely to work on Windows 2008 R2. I do not represent the organisation I work for, all the opinions expressed here are my own. Yes, I've tried using the ServicesPipeTimeout on one of the servers with low performance and it worked perfectly on Windows Server 2008 R2.Cheers, Ramin
