Show Clock
Have clients who connect via rdp to my window server 2008 terminal server and need to show the clock in the task bar/notification area. Where in Group policy is this to enable them to all have the clock?

There is no need for clients to show the clock in the task bar/notification area. There is only a need that the client computer must not be offset by five minutes with the LDAP server (this is if you are using Active Directory service and try to connect remotely using LDAP accounts to your terminal server) if you are using the Kerberos protol. This value of five minutes can be changed using GPOs. Concerning how to disable the show of clocks, you can follow what my collegue Dave Patrick said. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Please stop posting what you have read somewhere or give answers that really belong to the question.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Thanks for these informations but this is the right response for the issue. If you've got another answer so thanks to post it. We are here to help peoples and not to discuss the responses of other members. I would like also to tell you that this is my own answer because I had many Microsoft trainings and I am able to give my own answers. Best regards.

I do not show this location in GPO! Where or what is it called in TS 2008? Hello, open GPMC.msc on the machine where you manage your domain GPOs. Now choose the GPO on the OU where TS are located and edit this one. You have to manage the GPO at least form Windows Vista or Windows server 2008 or higher OS.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Thanks for these informations but this is the right response for the issue. Hello, your answer belongs to a complete different question that was not asked here. The user likes to now where to enable the clock for the Terminal server. This will be done with the mentioned GPO setting from Dave. Your answer has nothing to do with that question, as this is related to the Kerberos policy, Maximum tolerance for computer clock synchronization. Also if the original poster needs to enable this, he will have a reason and it is not your decision to say he don't need this setting.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

@chicojrman: Use User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar\Remove Clock from the system notification area and not User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar\Remove Clock from the system notification area Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. @Weber: I had not made any decisions. Please read well what I wrote and if there is a problem with what I posted, Mr chicojrman will tell me. Best regards.

Hi chicojrman, You can refer to the following article about the group policy setting: http://ts.veranoest.net/ts_faq_configuration.htm#enable_clock Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Chicojrman, Has your problem been solved? Best regards.

The "GPO" answer provided by Dave Patrick will NOT solve the problem. Setting this policy to disabled simply sets the "default" preference for showing the clock - which under TS, is do not show. The link provided by Shaon Shan *will* resolve the problem. Better yet, Google search a small utility called "showhideclock.exe", download, save to netlogon and call it from a logon script with "showhideclock /show"
