Slow login Windows 2003 Server
Recently installed a TS Win2K3 Ent SP2 and experienceslow logins both through rdp and at the console.Currently the server is running off one NIC.DNS seems fine as I have anA-record & reverse lookup entry for the server. All DNS & suffix entries are correct in the properties of the NIC.No errors appear in the event log.No roaming profiles or folder redirection is turned onAll GPOs apply to the user login account & TS as with other users/servers.Gpresult output shows same results as on other servers.Any ideas what is going on, im at a dead end! Thanks in advance.

Hello, plese post an unedited ipconfig /all from the server and also a client machine with that problem,so we can exclude DNS as a problem. Because it is a TS did you use loopback processing in replace or merge mode for the users?http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc757470(WS.10).aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc782810(WS.10).aspxBest regards

Hello Roger,Meinolf's suggestion makes sense.to toubleshoot the issue, please post back the result of "ipconfig /all" when it runs on both the client and the Terminal Server.Meanwhile, please test the following:1. logon the Windows Server 2003 locally with the local administrator, is it slow?2. logon the windows server 2003 terminal service via RDP from a RDP client, is it slow?please also run "gpresult /v" both the RDP client and the terminal server and post back results here for analysis. Thanks for the co-operation.This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
