I'm hoping to build up a dual boot Microsoft Server 2008/Vista Business box. Are there any fully supported graphics cards for Microsoft Server 2008 and Vista Business? Am I making more of this than need be? Can I put in a graphics card that the Server 2008 boot will ignore and the Vista boot will accept?

I think you might be making more it than needed. By default, Windows Server 2008 installs with a pretty generic video driver that runs on most graphic cards. However, if you have a higher end card in that system due to running Windows Vista, you may be able to install the Vista driver on the Server installation and get the benefit of the higher graphics. I have a Lenovo T61p with a really nice graphic card that works great with Vista. I installed the video driver from Vista onto my 2008 install and it works fine under 2008. If you also install the Desktop Experience feature in 2008, that then gives you the ability to project from 2008 just like you project from Vista. Works great for me. tgc

Thanks for the info. I'm not a server guru by any stretch so I'll just play around with putting in a graphics card and seeing what happens. I have a unused HP Proliant server that I picked up back in November and HPs response to making it work as anything but a server - such as a Vista workstation, is that it is "unsupported", which I interpreted to mean (and they confirmed) that if you slap in a graphics card, you're on your own. I assume that I just have to find a graphics card that is blessed for Vista and give it a shot.
