Synchronisation does not work with W7-Client
Hi,
I've got a W7 notebook as domain member (SBS 2003), which has mapped a share on the server as drive z: (a small directory with several Excel sheets). I tried to setup offline sync for that client, but no chance to do this (I'm logged on with administrative
rights):
1. The first error is, that synchronisation center offers a link called "Setup synchronisation partnership" - and when opened, it says there are no partners - that's it. No chance to setup one! (I translated the names of these links from german to english,
maybe they're named different in an original english Windows)
2. If I click on the link called "show syncronization partnerships", there is one called "Offline files" - but I didn't create it, it obviously is just there because of the mapping of drive z:. And why is it called "Offline files" and not "Synchroniszation
of drive Z:"?
3. Even more irritating is the fact, that I cannot delete or modify this "Partnership" . I only can "open" it. What I see then is called "d$(\\Server1)". So synchronization is occurring on the whole D: drive on the server an
not only on that subfolder the client is mapped to!!!
4. Synchronization shows Errors, obviously because it tries to synchronize the whole share d$ and laments because of missing rights.
My question now is, how can I tell Windows not to synchronize the whole d: drive but only the users folder with his excel sheets? Should I reinstall synchronization in W7?
Thanks for any hint!
Regards,
Tim
