Dear all, I am using windows server 2008 R2. I enabled Remote desktop for administration on this server. Then i bought 5 TS cals. So now 7 users can remote access the server : 5 cals i bought and 2 buitin ....is this right?MCITP Enterprise Messaging Administrator, MCITP Enterprise Administrator, MCSE, MCDBA

Dear all, I am using windows server 2008 R2. I enabled Remote desktop for administration on this server. Then i bought 5 TS cals. So now 7 users can remote access the server : 5 cals i bought and 2 buitin ....is this right? MCITP Enterprise Messaging Administrator, MCITP Enterprise Administrator, MCSE, MCDBA 2 built-in licenses exists only for administrators; if the account does not have administrative privilege then it can't use that licenses. And if you want to use admin license - use should execute mstsc with /admin key.

Hello, no, with administartion mode you can have 2 remote and one desktop session enabled. To use the RD CALs, you have to install the RD Licensing server and activate the license for the server then add the RD CALs to the licensing server. Now the server, where the users should logon to, must be prepared for the applications and the user must be allwoed to logon to the server, by default users are NOT allwoed.
