TWCLIENT issue arrgghh!
Hello
I have 4 domain controllers, 2 in site A and 2 in site B.
I have enabled the volume shadows copy service on all 4 servers DATA drivers with the default scheduled interval.
I then rolled out the >TWCLIENT to roughly 200 workstations which installed perfectly upon reboot.
Heres my issue:
All the workstations now have the "previous versions" tab however its EMPTY
The servers have the service running as you can see the snapshots on the servers when looking at the shadow copies tab on the relative drives.
I have noticed that if you browse the pervious versions tab on folders YOU CAN SEE the snapshots and restore the FOLDER to a previous datebut not when your browsethe tabon individual files (.xls, .doc and so on... its just empty)
Any ideas as this is driving me nuts. I have done this dozens of times and never had a problem on any other networks.
Kind regards

Hello,
As a test, would you please try the following steps to see how it goes?
1. In one of the shared folders, change a file of which the Previous Versions shows empty. You can do this like writing a new word in the file or temporarily moving this file to another folder, so that you can get the file back after the test.
2. Remotely browse this file and see if its Previous Versions show the previous file.
If the previous file shows up after making changes to it, this is the expected behavior. I just quote the brief information for your reference:
Q. I know I've enabled shadow copies on my server, but from my client computer I don't see previous versions of a file. Why?
A. The client computer user interface (UI) shows only previous versions that are different from the current version. If your file hasn't changed from the previous versions that are stored on the server, then the client UI will not show any previous versions.
