WMI - Differences between 2003 and 2008
Hi,
Hopefully someone can give some advice on this issue. We have had an internally developed monitoring system running for several years that queries customer servers using WMI. This runs on a linux box and queries Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers. Unfortunately
this system is now unable to query WMI on any of our 2008 servers and the linux developer has advised us that this is due to the differences in the WMI between Server 2003 and 2008. I can succesfully connect and retrieve information remotely on the 2008 boxes
by using various WMI queries contained within a VBS script. Can someone please point me in the direction of documentation thta details the differences in the versions of WMI as I cannot seem to find anything useful?
Thanks in advance
Alistair

The main document that I am seeing for Vista/2008 is this,
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa822854(VS.85).aspx
Is this along the lines of what you are looking for?
