For IIS I'd ask over here.

Hi
We have an application running on an internal Windows 2008 Server that is managed by a 3rd party. Our users access the app via
https://app1/webaccess
They are prompted for their domain credentials and then let in. There is a timeout on the server configured for 8 hours.
Recently,
some users are saying that they are logged out after about 15min
inactivity, which is quite annoying. The vendor says this must be a
local issues.
Is there any setting within IE or Windows XP/7 that can cause this logging out behaviour? How about IIS on the server itself?
Also,
would it be useful to run a Wireshark trace to find out which side
initiated the disconnect (the web or client)? What am I looking
for...where the original FIN packet was coming from?
