Windows 2003 Server Event Id 30005 - Source ipnathlp
Hi ,I have a Windows 2003 Server ( Std Edition ) running an application 24/7 for a WiFi Network. All is working AOK, except sometimes I get an issue or error I have never seen before and therefore need to find a solution in order to maintain the network stability etc etc...On the Server I have also configured MS DHCP Server, RAS ( for Internet sharing ) and a DNS Server as well. The error I recently saw in the Event Viewer ( Id 30005 - IP_AUTO_DHCP_LOG_DUPLICATE_Server ) occured I believe because 1 WiFi user recently connected an Indoor Access Point ( with DHCP Server Enabled ) directly connected to an Outdoor CPE unit. This caused the DHCP Server to fail and stop allocating IP's to other WiFi clients... apart from disconnecting said user after a little panic search to locate the kit he installed... here's my question. How can I stop the same problem from occuring again, i.e. somehow force the DHCP Server to continue and DISABLE any other DHCP Server on the same Network etc...Any suggestions / ideas appreciated.
