Windows 2003 Server R2 - Distributed File System Monitoring
Hi,We have 3x (Windows 2003 Server R2) servers and we are using Distributed File System (5.2.3790.3959) to replicate files from server to server. My simple question is: Is it possible to monitor real time what files are replicating, what files are in queue etc etc.I founded this hidden Frs-Staging -folder and i noticed that those are files what are on replicating queue, but names are like "NTFRS_CMP_69b3528a-e798-424b-bff754b61709e64e", so it won't tell me anything.Thanks.

Hi Partech, It seems that you use FRS to replicate files between Servers. In this way, you may use Ultrasound to measure the health of FRS replica sets by providing health ratings and historical information about the replica sets. By using Ultrasound, you can monitor the progress of replication and detect problems that may cause replication to become backlogged or stopped. You may also run "NTFRSUTL INLOG" on the DFS member server to see what is currently getting replication. For more information, please refer to: Download: Ultrasound - Monitoring and Troubleshooting Tool for File Replication Service (FRS) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=61acb9b9-c354-4f98-a823-24cc0da73b50&DisplayLang=en Ultrasound: Frequently Asked Questions and Known Issues http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/techinfo/overview/ultrasoundfaq.mspx Hope it helps.
