Hello, we try to build up a KMS Service on our Windows Server 2008 R2 to activate our Windows 7 KMS Clients. 1. I registered my System with a KMS_B Key and activated it 2. I try to add a Windows 7 KMS Key on the same Server with slmgr.vbs -ipk MY_KEY Then I receive the message that I should run: slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004F015 I was looking around and only find a Update (KB968915) for Windows Server 2008 (without R2) which - when I am not wrong - is right integrated into R2. Hi, Please check the following Troubleshooting For Server 2008 when using the pid key from the \Sources\pid.txt file you may see the following error after adding the key with -ipk Run Slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004F015 to display error text Error 0xC004F015 This error can be ignored. Run Slmgr -ato and the system should activate. When using the commands above, you may get errors such as '0x800706BA The RPC server is unavailable' (which may indicate a network error but is often displayed as an unhelpful generic error message) or 'Error 0x800706BA occurred in connecting to server -ipk'. The following three points should be noted: Check that you are logged in as an Administrator running an Administrative command prompt In the cscript command itself try using a / instead of - If the error is with the -skms command it may indicate a network error (failure to communicate on port TCP 1688) For a more detailed list of error codes and possible causes see Microsoft's How to troubleshoot Volume Activation error codes on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista-based computers at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938450 . Hello tcr82, Correct, you do not have to use the Windows 7 KMS host key. That key is only used if you need to setup a KMS host on a Windows 7 machine. the Windows Server KMS host key incldue support for Windows Vista and Windows 7 KMS client machines Your count is 15 and needs to get to 25 to start activating the machines. You should not need to use the all parameter on the slmgr /DLV output. Question : Must be on all clients (min. 25) to the same time? Or its enough that the clients was registering on the KMS host?
