Windows Server 2008 R2 keeps rebooting to recovery console
Hardware IBM x3650 M3
Host OS: Windows 2008 R2
Guest OS: Windows 2008 R2
I had a disk faliure on our Raid6 volume, and after rebuilding it, one of the two Guest OS's will only boot to the recovery console.
I have tried to press F8, but no matter what I select, it starts the recovery console
I ran a chkdsk, through the recovery console, and the data and disk seems to be fine.
The consistency check from the Host OS was sucessfully as well.
Anyone have a idea to how to break this reboot cycle?

I had to restore from last night backup to recover from this problem.
Strange that there dont seem to be a way to break this reboot loop, since I am not the only one that experianced this problem.

Hi,
I would like to confirm that can you boot up to Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)? Can you boot up after disconnecting all the hardware
devices?
Please check and make sure that the RAID settings in BIOS is correct and the RAID driver is up to date.
For more information about how to repair the startup files, please also read the following Microsoft KB article:

Hi,
No matter what I select (safe mode w/without network, last known good...) it stil sends me to the recovery console.
I found the the link regarding Bootrec.exe as well, but that led me to a broken regestry.
Thankfully its a Hyper-V setup, because I started by taking a fresh snapshot, so it only took me about 5 seconds to get back to the original problem, when something else went wrong. It was great to know that i was only a "Rightclick ->revert" away, nomatter
what I tried.
The way I see it right now, the main problem must have been in the IBM raid controller (had the latest driver, and firmware), wich led to corrupt data when the disk went offline.
But if I could have broken the repedetive reboot->recovery console loop, I might have been able to fix the problem in a timely fashion, without using the restore from last nights backup.
